The Israel-Palestine conflict is a centuries-long conflict between the Jewish people and the Palestinian people over the land that is now known as Israel, the West Bank, and Gaza.

The conflict started with the expulsion of the Palestinian people from their homes in Lebanon in the 1920s and 1930s, and has continued to this day with the construction of settlements by Israelis in the occupied Palestinian territories, which Palestinians view as illegitimate.

The Oslo Accords of 1993 were meant to be the beginning of the end of the conflict, but they failed due to the resistance of Israeli hard-liners and the violence of Palestinian extremists. The current situation is characterized by Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories, a crippling economic blockade of Gaza, and periodic violence between Israelis and Palestinians.

There is little political will for peace on either side, and the conflict is likely to continue for many years to come.
